Authentic Chicken Burrito Recipe

We enjoy creating beautiful meals for our family, a lot of the recipes we make need to be quick and easy to whip together after a full work day. One of our favorite recipes to make is this family chicken burrito recipe that our girls love!

Chicken Burrito Recipe

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

6 Chicken breasts

4 oz can Ortega chilies or more for a spicier flavor

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

Garlic powder to taste

Onion powder to taste

15oz Can tomato sauce

7oz Can El Pato

1 Cup of chicken broth

1 1/2 Tablespoons butter

Flour tortillas

Cheese

Sour cream (optional)

Directions

1. Boil 6 chicken breasts, once cooked shred chicken and set aside

2. Melt butter in frying pan and add in ortega chilies, el pato, chicken broth, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder

3. Cook until warm, add in the shredded chicken and mix together

4. Heat flour tortilla

5. Add the chicken to the tortilla with any toppings you prefer

6. Enjoy!

 

You can boil the chicken breasts separately or throw all of the ingredients together in a slow cooker and let them marinate for 4 hours on high. Either way, this recipe takes less than an hour and is a quick clean up. Feel free to add different toppings to the burrito to make it your own!
