Kitchen Renovation - Backsplash
In 2015 we purchased a fixer upper – a complete gut job fixer upper. We couldn’t live in our home for 3 months as we renovated the electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems throughout the home along with adding additional square footage and making several interior structural changes. We were so desperate to move in we went with a cabinet style we didn’t love and planned on slowly making it our own. Fast forward 4 years and we’ve finally completed the kitchen renovation of our dreams!
We painted the cabinets Swiss Coffee by Dunn Edwards, upgraded the hardware to gold arabesque knobs coupled with gold bar handles, updated the backsplash behind the stove to black shiplap and added stone around the stove pop-out and a hydraulic passthrough window to finish off the space. The final piece was finding a backsplash that we loved, and we did just that!
We’re lucky to live near tons of tile shops and were able to find this black patterned tile for $1.19/sq ft! We couldn’t believe the price and were eager to get it installed!! We went with a thin black grout to not lose any of the design and had it installed in just 3 days. We are beyond excited to finally have the kitchen we’ve been dreaming about for so long.
